Etsy Shop Review-Simply Rustic Natural Skin Care
Today I'm going to be reviewing one of my all time favorite etsy shops (and the list seems to keep growing,so many amazing shops on there!).This shop is called "Simply Rustic" ,and the lovely shop owner's name is Amanda.
I tend to have dry skin,so I tried a few different body butters, though she does have other things like lip polish and balms, face cleansers and masks and body scrubs.
Amanda even made a new scent for me when I asked.I love vanilla, and also loved the one with coconut oil,and thought putting some vanilla oil with it would be wonderful.People say it reminds them of the beach, and it kinda does for me,too, thought it mostly smells like vanilla cake to me.It's called "Tranquility",and she doesn't have it listed yet, since it's a new product, but keep a lookout for it in her shop or ask her about it if you're interested. :) That one and the "Nighty Night" are my two top faves...though they are all my favorites.
Right now she is having a sale on all of her body butters,as well as a few other great deals on some other products! You can get four butters of your choice for $27.Normally they are $9 each,so that means if you buy four, you will be getting one free.
You can shop all sales here.
Alright, now to review the ones I got. :)
This one is amazing.I got it when I had the flu,and put it on my neck, and found it helped a lot.It helps with pain in general a little, and I think it would be good for massages. It also smells really nice.I had one of my friends smell it,and she didn't want to give it back!haha. It has Roman Chamomile and Lavender Essential Oil in it and the butter is organic fair trade shea butter, grape seed oil, beeswax, and vitamin E oil.
Whipped Raspberry Body Butter - Organic Raspberry Flavor Extract, Fair Trade Organic
Has a nice, light scent (at least,it's light to me),and does smell like raspberries. :) I do really like this one for summer.
NOW Vegan Whipped Mmm...Yummy Body Butter - Simply Shea Butter, Organic Virgin Coconut Oil and Cocoa Butter
I love this one a lot,and since it's unscented besides it's own natural smell,it's a great one to use when you want to wear a perfume.I think this one makes my skin the softest,it's got a very silky texture cause of the coconut oil.
This one I actually didn't use,but got for a friend.I did smell it,though, and it smelled amazing as well. It's pretty much the same as the other coconut butter besides the lime oil.I would buy this one for myself later.
I was wondering what to do with the containers once I used up all the butter,I didn't want to throw them away.Well,I realized you can wash and dry them, and then use them for storing craft supplies,I think they would even work to give gifts in.
I'm looking forward to trying these someday. :)
Whipped Relax Body Butter -Wildcrafted Lavender Essential Oil, Fair Trade Organic
Relax Body Scrub - Cleanse, Exfoliate, Moisturize - Fair Trade, Organic, Wildcrafted
Whipped Revive Body Butter - Organic Pumpkin Seed Oil & Carrot Seed Oil, Fair Trade, Wildcrafted
I read in her shop reviews that a customer used to use Burt's Bees carrot lotion and I remember that lotion,so I think I'd like this one. :)

So sorry it's been so long since I've last blogged! It seems like I am saying that every 6 months or so,I guess I'm just not very good at blogging regularly. But I have some new designs to show you, some new ones I'm working on,and some etsy shop reviews,as well,so be expecting some posts from me this month. :)
Here is a photo of a gorgeous star lantern I got recently that I wanted to show you.
P.S. Oh,and that post about anonymous spam comments?I got a ton of anonymous spam comments on it,I guess they thought it was just an invitation for a spam party. ;)

Anonymous Spam Comments Can Sometimes Be Hilarious
Ever since I made it so anonymous comments can be made on my blog,I've had quite a few spam comments which generally made no sense whatsoever and I usually ignore them unless they aren't in the spam folder and need to be deleted.Well,a few days ago I got one of those, and found this particular one really amusing.
Here's what it said:
"Hello to child on this bad forum. Skedaddle to me start myself. I am doktor and i am event this site :
diziler
Waiting after all these friends.
Regards"

Even The Winter
I just wanted to share one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite singers,Audrey Assad.
As you can see by the lyrics below,it has a line in it about April.I meant to write this post a few weeks back, actually, and decided since this was the last day of April,I better go ahead and do it!haha. :)
In Oregon,we had a very long rainy winter, and I was really missing the sun,so I would play this song and sing it to remind me the sun would reappear again. And it got me thinking about how the lyrics can apply to a lot of things in life,relationships,jobs,dreams....
What if we find ourselves beneath the snow,
our warmest words all frozen in our throats
and all we feel is left out in the cold,
you & I?
What if the days grow short & lose their light?
What if the coals burn black & the embers die
& we can't find each other in the night?
You and I...
Even the winter won't last forever...
We'll see the morning, we'll feel the sun
We'll wake up in April, ready & able
Sowing the seeds in the soil
of love
What if the ice we tread is just too thin?
What if we can't escape the squall we're in?
What if our hearts of stone are permanent,
you & I?
Even the winter won't last forever...
We'll see the morning, we'll feel the sun
We'll wake up in April, ready & able
Sowing the seeds in the soil
of love
What if the spring comes soon
& we're surprised?
What if the seasons help us realize,
some things are only proven over time?
Even the winter won't last forever...
We'll see the morning, we'll feel the sun
We'll wake up in April, ready & able
Sowing the seeds in the soil
Even the darkness cannot disarm us
We'll see the morning, we'll feel the sun
We'll break up the earth, because we know
that it's worth it
Sowing the seeds in the soil of our lov

My Etsy Shop Is Back! :)
So I thought I would let you all know that my etsy shop is back.I'm pretty happy about that! :D
I ended up getting the flu Sunday,so I've been kinda knocked off my feet, and will probably be recovering for the rest of the week.
But I have some new items I've made, and will take photos of them and list them on etsy once I feel better and the weather is nice.
Here is a pic I got before of some hairpins I made a few weeks ago.I made some with clear seed beads and gold color wire, too. It's like the "Blossoming Branch" hair combs, but as hairpins.
Dainty Ivory and Silver Wire Wrapped Blossoming Branch Hairpins-Set of 3
Then I made some hairpins like these, but in different color combinations.Clear crystal with gold wire, champagne crystal with gold, purple and silver, and a few others.
Crystal and Silver Wire-wrapped Hairpins.Set of 5
I've made some other things,too,but I'll let that be a surprise! ;)

Etsy Shop Review-Stella Deer
For some time I've been meaning to start writing reviews of etsy shops I have purchased from or done a trade with. There are some truly amazing products that the world deserves to know about! :)
The shop I am writing about today is called Stella Deer ,a natural beauty product shop, and the lovely shop owner's name is Lia.
I got these items...
Dream Pillow with Wildharvested Lavender Flowers
I'm normally not that big of a fan of lavender, but my mom is crazy about it.So I thought I would get this for her.Well, after I smelled it,I'm keeping it!haha.I'll just have to get another one for her.And maybe one for my friend.Another nice thing is that I had a bit of a headache (probably tension headache),and after sniffing the dream pillow a few times, the headache mostly left and I feel much better.
Then I got two lip balms, both with mint, since I love all things mint and peppermint. Both of them work very well.I have a bit of cracking at the side of my mouth, and it's very healing. The peppermint did sting slightly for a few seconds on that spot when I first put it on,but that's to be expected with mint.Lia also makes one without mint,CALENDULA Herbal Lip Balm, .
MOJITO Lip Balm All Natural and Organic
INDIA MINT Lip Balm All Natural and Organic
I also got a Chamomile Lavender Bath Tea Bag,which smells good.It was the last one in her shop, but she should be getting more soon.
Everything came well packaged and looked just like the photos and was just as described.
Now I have my eyes on these two products! They both look amazing!Lavender lip balm..mm.And my hands are usually dry and I love the smell of lemon.
NEW Lavender Cocoa Butter Lip Balm in a Tin, All Natural and Organic, Handmade, Perfect to Stash in Your Purse
NEW Lemon Cocoa Butter Hand Salve, All Natural and Organic, For Soft Skin and Cuticles, Fresh Lemon Scent, Carry in Your Purse
Oh,and I almost forgot to mention that she makes soaps as well. :)

New Items in the Shop-Star Wirework Hairpins
Right before Christmas,I got this idea to make wirework star hairpins with some sparkly seed beads, and I'm glad I did! :) I have a large star bobby pin like in the first photo that I wear quite a lot, just how it's styled, actually.I think it looks a little bit like a starfish, and that the smaller ones look more like stars.I'm going to be making a few more sizes and color combinations later, but here are photos and links to see more photos and buy if you like. :)

Pinterest!
Well,I gave in and joined Pinterest.I had seen several of my friends using it and looked at it a few times, but ended up joining it for a style contest.I can now say I am addicted! It reminds me of etsy treasuries, but in a way it's much better, cause you can use links and photos from wherever you like. :)I like it a lot...it's kinda what I've been looking for,and is easier for me than blogging..it's like a link and photo blog in pins and boards.haha
Without further ado,here is mine!
birdofasong
Do any of you have a pinterest, pin,or board you want me to see? :)
